Short-Term Disability (STD) coverage pays your employee a benefit each week they are unable to work because of injury or illness (including pregnancy). This STD insurance will replace a portion of the employee's gross weekly income in the event they become disabled and unable to work. Benefit payments begin after a short elimination period with options to continue ranging from 3 to 24 months.
Offering employees the opportunity to purchase voluntary STD coverage at the lower group rate will make the coverage more affordable for your employees and will result in higher enrollment participation during the open enrollment period.
